Rule 1. Be visible and relevant to get free traffic to my website

Be visibly relevant

That is rule #1 – be visibly relevant.
This means your webpage must be visible, i.e. foundable in search by those you want to reach, and it must answer their exact demand.

Why: to make search engines see your website, suggest it to your target audience, and ensure visitors don’t leave it instantly.

What: to have good content is not enough, you need to align it with ‘big numbers analysis’ of formalized wording that people use in a search engine and to ensure visitors’ search expectations are met from the first sight so they continue exploring your ‘tell or sell’ content.

How: for the matter, topic, or product you have on your website do research on the exact words, and phrases people search for. Add those to your content naturally.

Rule 2. Choose a good SEO title, description, and headers

This is THE TECHNICAL MUST for your website.

Why: to make search engines see your website’s structure, and ‘understand’ its content better

What: NOT EMPTY, containing relevant keywords, phrases website title, description, and headers is the goal

How: take those most relevant keywords and phrases from the previous step and suggest title, description, and headers that fit the ‘message’, so you get quality organic traffic to your website with a higher probability.

Rule 3. Ensure good backlinks point to your webpage

Even though this rule is important, let’s park it for a while and not elaborate in this article. I will not do it specifically for this article to see what can be achieved without it.

Why: to increase website rank and ensure search engines rate your website better and suggest it on higher positions (closer to the first page of search results).

What: you need to ensure websites of high authority (e.g. google.com, amazon.com, bitcoin.com, or a bit more realistic) have your website link on it.

How: –parked—

Rule 4. Variate keywords, e.g. ‘instant traffic’ + ‘web traffic’ + ‘real free traffic’

Do not repeat yourself. From the keywords research list take different variations and put in text and headings. Do not lose relevance to the topic though.

Why: to cover a wider search range and audience

What: different keywords, matching the matter you want to receive free website traffic for, that are placed in texts and headings

How: take keywords from the research list of those related to your main topic/keyword/SEO phrase/SEO question, and put them as variations inside of the text to replace the target keyword/phrase to rank higher (ranking higher technically means more organic traffic with a higher probability)

Rule 5. How to get free traffic to your website by answering relevant questions

People seek answers. Those questions that are relevant to your website or landing page can be found in the same old SEO research.

E.g. before getting to this very article some of you possibly asked, how to get free traffic to your website.

And the answer is to start with applying rules specified in this article.

Why: because people try to solve a problem that can be solved with something you offer

What: a combination of relevant questions and answers that cover your topic/offering so that visitors get the helpful response to their question

How: research existing SEO questions that users ask on the internet, add that exact or very similar question to one of your headings, or even create a dedicated post titled alike, with an answer in the elaborative part

Rule 6. Be interesting and unique to support your SEO

Creativity and uniqueness are as valuable as those technicalities.
Do not repeat yourself, be DIFFERENT from others, i.e. your content should be different, you get it 🙂

If your content is valuable enough, creative elements will give a pinch of spiciness to stand out. In the internet of similarity, such a differentiation will be appreciated.

Rule 7. Keep it simple

Rule 8. Do competitors’ SEO and keyword research

The reality is that most probably you will have to compete with others for free organic traffic. Many of keywords ‘are taken’ by powerful(trusted, old, contentful) websites, thus such keywords will be marked of a high interest and high complexity by any SEO research tool.
Do not start with these, as it will take more time and may even fail to generate traffic to your website for such challenging keywords.
look for low-hanging fruits, i.e. key phrases with enough estimated traffic but no/low competition.

Why: to choose reasonable keywords worth effort, and to be aware of possible content that generates organic traffic for your competitors

What: keyphrases-opportunities, which are relevant for your website or page and have enough interest, but are not critically complex to get ranked for.

How: From the keywords research choose and use in your website content those of enough estimated monthly visits, and no/low difficulty

Rule 9. Analyse and update

When your website becomes visible to a search engine and you receive initial traffic and SEO reports( use Google Analytics, and Google Search Console for that), it is time to analyse how it performs and improve

Why: to get traffic to your website free you must constantly improve, for that analysis is needed

What: Google Analytics and Search Console analysis

How: go to Google Analytics, the Search Console, and check how your website performs (you will have to read some official documentation for those tools, but that is relatively simple). Identify how your page or pages perform for different keywords, and which planned (desired) keywords are not ‘working’. Edit your post, add new information and keywords, and increase the number of people visiting your website. When time passes you can build something more sophisticated like this organic search analysis dashboard for a deeper understanding of how a website performs in SEO.

Summary on how to get tons of free traffic to a website

Before I summarize, please consider this remark for ‘FREE TRAFFIC’. I mean the organic traffic you do not have to advertise or pay for external services. However, technically to get free traffic you will have to do those steps above, i.e. spend some of your valuable time, or you will have to hire someone to do those things from the list you now are aware of. It should be easy for yourself, or relatively cheap if you hire someone.

Once again, tons of organic traffic to your page won’t be possible without technically correct search engine keywords in your website Title, description, headings, and texts.
Take care of visitors’ attention, meeting their search expectations (do not try to trick them by putting a lot of ‘Free money’ keywords and then telling them that your website is offering ‘Cat food’). Keep them engaged, reading, and exploring your webpage, which confirms to a search engine that the user’s interest and the search result (your website) match.
Keep an eye on your competitors, do not copy them, but use them as a solid reference point, and exploit the same keywords if relevant.
Be creative, and unique, and enrich technically correct keywords with those human-friendly, search engines that are smart enough to pick those up.

free traffic to my website

19 June 2024. It is still deep under the water, however, the search engine displays it even at higher positions, whereas the average ranking is in the 70s position (somewhere quite low), the post got its moment of fame for the first time by being shown in the 20th position of a search.

A search engine shows the post for a wider range of queries. I expect that it will only grow. Stay tuned.

05 December 2024. The time has come, the post has finally received its real attention. It has been a while since the last update, but I just had to observe. As I do not buy links to this article, it grows as the least cherished flower in the search engines’ content garden. But the light of hope is there. Can you see the CLICK?

That is not the only important parameter. Remember I suggested to make it interesting for a visitor. Well, as you can see by the session duration this good person found my page about how to get free traffic and read the post for a while, which is very promising. But at this point, I must admit that ‘fast’ is not the time line we observe here. Let’s wait then, possibly I will have to rename the article to ‘Free traffic to my website slow’ lol.

I almost forgot. Here is a list of actual keywords visible in the Google search console for this article
